You guyyys.. yesterday my Glompfest fic was posted and it's the most shiniest thing ever. I'm still getting all excited writing about it a day (and two reads) later. The author, wo decided to stay anonymous (why, oh why?) took my prompt and turned it into a fic that's so much more than I ever expected.

Summary: A decade after the war, wizarding Britain has learned how to cleanse its citizens of Dark magic. The process, Taming, erases violence, viciousness, hatred, and according to Draco Malfoy, a person’s soul. In order to save his friends, Draco must prove that Taming might, in fact, be the cruelest magic ever conceived. The only problem is... he needs to convince Harry Potter first.

This fic, set in a dytopian, but not too dark setting, is an amazing example of good intentions gone wrong. It has all I asked for - H/D, plot!, UST, kissing against walls, a little angst, hot sex - and then some. A lot of it. The wonderfully creepy concept of the Taming, lots of raw emotions, that never cross the line to being unbearable, a Neville, who is in a different way, but never less awesome than in canon - I could go on like this for a while.

Go and read it. Seriously. And I'm not saying this because the fic was written for me, but because it was, I'll repeat: GO AND READ IT. NOW. :D You won't be disappointed. And I might have to start a rec-list for dystopian fics...

So, for the time being I'll put up my tent over here at Dreamwidth. Not sure whether I will stay once LJ is up again, though DW doesn't look bad.

If you're looking for H/D folk, you should check out [community profile] hd_loveshack and for old and new friends go over to [personal profile] marguerite_26 's Friending Meme .

I'm just glad I found this place. *clings* It's a little like finding a new home after stumbling through a wasteland. x) With not being on Twitter/Facebook/Tumblr/whatever I felt totally cut off from all things fannish and I NEED MY DAILY DOSE OF FANDOM. o_O

Holy fuck. This might be the sexiest thing I've seen in fandom in a while. It's completely work safe , comes with a G rating and still my mind goes all unghnnnghhhaaawantnaoplz. Jep, I have a total thing for dramatic and fierce entrances. *goes back to drool stare some more*

Back to studying for exams of doom. I miss you and fandom. *le sigh*

Now I want to read the books. Also, I might want to read fic.
ariannagray: (Default)
.. and, for that matter, [livejournal.com profile] melusinahp's: I just watched the first episode of Game of Thrones. And I'm going to watch the second one right now. Hooked? Why would you think that? xD Good thing I didn't have anything planned this afternoon.

I was wondering..

1.
Do you somehow keep track of the fic you've been reading?
Do you use bookmarks or a service like delicious or do you save them on your harddrive?

I keep a list of the books I've read and would like to do the same for fic. So far delicious seemd to be the right place, but as it's now being sold after all, I'm on the lookout for alternatives. And in general I'd be interested to know whether you keep track at all.

2.
Where do you find new fics to read? Or rather: do you go actively looking for new stuff? Do you rely on known authors/fests/reccers?

I realized that the pool of writers I read from is pretty small and that I very, very rarely go looking for new stuff and mostly rely on the recs of certain people. What about you? And if you are like me, who do read/rely on for recs?

What? No, I'm not pimping this just to have this incredibly hot picture in my journal. Well, at least not entirely. .. Oh, shut up and go and check out H/D Support and [livejournal.com profile] snitches_n_smut. .. I am not drooling. Now go!

Dear internet connection,
please stop acting up and behaving bitchy. Otherwise I must kick you. Hard.
Sincereley, Arianna.

To give my internet connection a little time out to behave properly again, I'll be now off to my sweet little balcony, where I'll try to catch some afternoon sun, drink a huge glass of iced coffee and listen to [livejournal.com profile] raitala reading h/d to me. Yeah, life could be worse.

I just cried. I just cried because of a fic. I don't usually cry much, and even less over films, books or fic. But sometimes you stumble across a piece that grabs you and won't release you even after you finished. A piece so perfect, from the characterisation to the littelest details, that it is able to make you cry. To make me cry. And to make me giggle, and laugh, and groan, and bite my nails and sometimes all of it at the same time.
Yes, I am looking in your direction, [info]bryoneybrynn. I just finished Holly and Hawthorn, Thistle and Thyme and it was perfect.

It is much to late (or early) where I live, so I'm stopping here, but let me close by saying: Thank you for writing this wonderful story.
To everyone else: If you haven't read it yet, please go and do so.

Mpreg?

I know, I've not been around for over a year, but has mpreg (esp. in the h/d corner of fandom) risen in popularity during that time?
My feeling says I wasn't this widespread in 2009 and earlier. Yes/No?
